Law Enforcement and NMDOT has  I-25 just north of Muddy Spring exit closed and traffic is being detoured after  Kingdom   Creek overflowed and flooded the interstate .

Apache County  Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Sean Brown told Journal that  21 vehicles were  caught in flood ,but no one was seriously injured ,Though vehicles are stuck in feet of mud and debris  for  3 mile area .   A NMDOT spokesperson , told the Journal that I 25 will mostly be closed for at lest 4 days between  Muddy Spring /NM state rd 23 exit and Thunder Canyon Raceway  rd exit in both ways. Also was noted that Kingdom Creek  bridge has debris  on it ,but was not washed out .

 Crews  cleaning I 25  as  Muddy Spring police Chief Amy  Melendez   and village  Manager George Gasley talk with NMDOT workers . Update RD should be open by late Sunday or Monday AM .
