Willi - Stranger #50 - a photo on Flickriver

Half of my 100 Stranger project. What has it brought to me? 50 interesting encounters with 50 lovely people from 14 different countries! It was an exciting trip.
I got another photographic view, have had interesting conversations with open-minded people and have had warm and constructive interactions here on Flickr and with the Flickr community. My conclusion: And I do not want to miss any encounter. I look forward to the second half. A photographic life without this project, I can not imagine.

Sometimes I watch myself as I change into the 100-Stranger-mode, even if I did not have my camera with me. (It's unfortunately not always).

And by, the way, maybe our 100 Stranger project helps even a little, to bring people closer.

But how my 50th meeting has come about? We had a short birthday trip at the river Mosel and had visited the town of Bernkastel-Kues. I kept an eye out for people that I might win for the project. But really the spark did not jump over. During our tour through the town we noticed a small shop. Standing on the awning: Historic candy making factory. That sounded interesting. We entered the store. A wonderful aroma greeted us and we saw a rack of countless different colorful candies. Behind was the working area of the candy maker. He was behind the counter and greeted us warmly.
We met Willi. We quickly got into conversation with him, as we had seen something similar before in Granna (Sweden). Willi told us something about the candy manufacture. He hit on the idea of making candies in Paris about 16 years ago. Since 8 years he has here this nice store here in Bernkastel-Kues. He showed us the partly historical forms which he has collected and used. We tried several varieties, all were delicious. Of course I had to ask Willi for a photo. I briefly explained my wish and Willi agreed, however, with the hint that he is not photogenic. I pulled out my camera. Willi saw this and said, but then I have also put on my cap. Said and done. I took a few photos and showed this Willi. Willi really liked them. I handed over my card and promised that the photos will be in my stream in about a week.
With a bag full of various sweets we left the store. Thanks Willi, for the nice chat and the information about the candy making. We wish you much success with your wonderful business. Meanwhile, we have tried all sorts. They simply taste awesome and make almost addictive!!! Thanks again and all the best to you.
