Milky way and the Hoodoo - a photo on Flickriver

            The milky way over the hoodoo.....
On a recent trip to Utah, this area was on the list to capture the milky way over this fun rock and hoodoo area. After an afternoon scout, we were all set to go. The milky way begins rising very early in the morning, ie 2:00am, so it was another try to go to sleep early (sure that works!) and get up at midnight to hike out to the area in time to set up lights and find the composition again.  We used low level led lights to illuminate the rocks. I took one exposure for the rocks and and one set of images for the sky. The sky images were stacked for noise reduction, and then the 2 images were hand blended in photoshop.
