Groningen: Opende church - a photo on Flickriver

            Hervormde kerk (Dutch Reformed church, 1748) en kerkhof (churchyard) aan de Openderweg.

De hervormde kerk bij het dorp Opende stamt uit 1748 maar is in 1915, 1923 en 1930 verbouwd en uitgebreid. In 1983-1984 is het interieur van de kerk grotendeels gerestaureerd. Van het meubilair in de kerk is de preekstoel uit de eerste helft van de 18e eeuw bewaard gebleven.
De kerk staat op de plaats van een oudere -oorspronkelijk houten en later stenen- kerk, die werd afgebroken. Het is een eenvoudige zaalkerk met een orgel uit 1966, gebouwd door de firma Bakker & Timmenga. 
De kerk staat aan de Openderweg nabij de Provincialeweg, en is een rijksmonument.
