Trentino: Trento, moving Jesus - a photo on Flickriver

At the gate of the Duomo in Trento, Trentino, Italy.

In 2007, in the big church in Trento city, the 'Duomo', work was in progress.
Statues were carefully taken down from their place in the church, carried through the big doors, and lifted into a truck, to take them away to a restoration shop somewhere.
First Mary came out. Then Jesus.
It was a tricky job for the men. Not only were moving precious statues, they were handling The Lord Jesus himself here...!
None of the men dared to look at His face.
They were whispering and they never looked the Jesus statue in the eye, not one second.
And they were wearing hard hats, just to make sure...
When the Lord was finally in the truck, the first thing they did was put a blanked over His head.
