Abies x masjoannis D. Soto García, J. I. García Viñas & E. Pérez Bujarrabal 2000 (PINACEAE).

            Híbrido de Abies alba x Abies pinsapo.
Existe este híbrido en España desde el año 1910 aproximadamente (Parque de El Retiro, Madrid, y Señorío de Bértiz, Oyeregui-Oronoz, Navarra) pero en los catálogos divulgativos de ambos lugares se consideró siempre como A. pinsapo Boiss. hasta que en 2000 fueron identificados y dados a conocer como A. x masjoannis. 
Según prevalezcan las caracteristicas de uno u otro de los progenitores se han descrito tres notomorfosd: alboides, mesoides y pinsapoides. El ejemplar de Iturraran pertenece al primero de ellos, se encuentra en la zona 8

Hybrid of Abies alba x Abies pinsapo.
This hybrid has existed in Spain since approximately 1910 (El Retiro Park, Madrid, and Señorío de Bértiz, Oyeregui-Oronoz, Navarra) but in the informative catalogs of both places it was always considered as A. pinsapo Boiss. until in 2000 they were identified and released as A. x masjoannis.
Depending on the prevalence of the characteristics of one or the other of the parents, three notomorphs have been described: alboids, mesoids and pinsapoids. The specimen of Iturraran belongs to the first one, it is in zone 8.
