Broccoli Rocks [In Explore 2/7/21] - a photo on Flickriver

            A silverback Western Lowland Gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) living in the bachelor troop with his two brothers. Almost everything a gorilla eats is plant material -  leaves, stems, fruits, seeds, and roots.  At the San Diego Zoo, gorillas are offered a variety of produce and browse material six times a day, as well as special treats like Cheerios and Wheat Chex cereals. This food is scattered all about the habitat, giving the gorillas plenty of opportunities to hunt for their mealsand pick their favorite items.
