VR-CAN ex-Qantas VIP Boeing 707-138B seen parked up in the BA maintenance area at London Heathrow

The Boeing Collection
From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.

Seen in the British Airways maintenance area at London Heathrow, a nice early short-bodied Boeing 707 operated at the time by Euro Air Financing. The aircraft was one of the original fleet of Qantas Boeing 707-138Bs, starting life as VH-EBH, delivered to Qantas in 1961.

VH-EBH c/n 18067 Boeing 707-138B - was delivered new to Qantas in Jul 1961. The aircraft flew with Qantas until 1969, and was then sold to BWIA International Airways as 9Y-TDC. After eight years with BWIA, the aircraft went to Euro Air Financing as VR-CAN. It flew until 1980 before finally being withdrawn - sold to Omni Aircraft Trading for spares and scrapped at the marina 'graveyard'.

Taken with a Soviet made Zenith E camera and 300mm telephoto lens. Note the classic Zenith effects :) Just found my log that records that first of four Zenith cameras that I used, this one a Zenit E f.2 serial no: 77343243! Purchased 6-1-79. This shot was taken on my second film in March 1979.
