Executive Jet Boeing 707-321B N111MF seen storming down runway 24 at Amsterdam Schiphol

From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.

On May 1st 1982, I stationed myself by runway 24 at Schiphol and got through nearly 50 frames of Kodachrome 64! Happy days :)

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, a number of major American carriers disposed of their older fuel-thirsty aircraft including many Boeing 707s. Many of them ended up flying with secondary and cargo airlines, but a few escaped and were fitted up as executive jets. One of these is seen here in the form of N111MF which I captured on a runway 24 take off at Amsterdam Schiphol. The aircraft was looking extremely smart :) In the distance, a Finnair DC-9 and a KLM DC-8 - the latter on borrowed time, as they were being phased out and replaced by A310 Airbuses at this time.

N763PA c/n 18338 - Boeing 707-321B was delivered new to Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) in June 1962 and was named 'Clipper Yankee'. The aircraft flew with Pan Am until 1977, and was then sold to Wedge Aviation as N763W. In 1978 the aircraft passed to Wistair International as N111MF (as seen in my photo). In 1983 it was re-registered N98WS, In 1987, it was sold to Omega Air as HZ-TAS. By 1990, the aircraft was stored at RAF Manston and was finally broken up there in 1994.

Pan Am operated a huge fleet of some 127 Boeing 707s, including 8 early model Series 120s, 85 Series 320Bs and 34 Series 320Cs, between 1958 and 1981.
