F-GDFZ Sud Aviation Se-210 Caravelle 10B3 of ACI at London Heathrow

Probably one of the last Caravelles that I saw at Heathrow - Air Charter International (ACI) Caravelles were not a common sight at Heathrow. By 1984, all the European scheduled operators had stopped using Caravelles into Heathrow - the last would have been Finnair.

F-GDFZ a smart looking Air Charter International (ACI) Sud Aviation Caravelle 10B3 Super B seen here approaching the threshold of runway 28R at London Heathrow. Are we not quite in focus? My standards are slipping :)

F-GDFZ c/n 211 - Caravelle 10B3 Super B - was delivered new to Finnair as OH-LSH in Jan 1967 and flew with the airline until 1981, when the aircraft was sold to Europe Aero Service (EAS). At some point, the aircraft transferred to Air Charter International (ACI) and flew with them until Mar 1993. In that year the aircraft was sold to LAS Lineas Aereas Suramericanas as HK-3836X later HK-3836 with SEC (Colombia). In 1995 it was impounded in Mexico for drug trafficking and was commandeered by Fuerza Aerea Mexicana (Mexican Air Force) as 10506. Retired in Apr 2002, the aircraft was then partially dismantled and moved to Parque Aviacuatico los Manantiales near Jilotepec de Abasolo. The aircraft remains preserved.
