            The Steller's jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) is a jay native to western North America, closely related to the blue jay found in the rest of the continent, but with a black head and upper body  /  Yosemite National Park is one of the 59 national parks, spanning portions of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Madera counties in Northern California.  The park is managed by the National Park Service and covers an area of nearly 1.2 million square miles reaching across the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.  Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognized for its granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves, lakes, mountains, glaciers, and biological diversity.
