Resting for the summit - a photo on Flickriver

            Here's a shot from a hike to Hrútfjallstindar peaks of Vatnajökull icecap last summer.  During summer it doesn't get dark at night in Iceland so started the hike just after midnight for two benefits.  The snow would still be hard and frozen during the summit plus we would see the sun rise as we got up to the glacier.  

Here is our guide eating his lunch and sucking the beauty in.  To the left we can see the Hrútfjallstindar peaks (1790m) and to the right is Iceland's highest peak Hvannadalshnjúkur (2110m) and between them flows the tounge of Svífellsjökull.

One of many great hikes me and my wife have been doing with Tindar Travel in the last two years.  This hike was demanding but the reward is spectacular views like this.  :)
