Old Farm House - a photo on Flickriver

Old Farm House

This old house was about ready to fall down when I took the photo. Two years later when I went back it did indeed collapse. I looked inside but decided not to physical explore inside. An old bed that once was upstairs had fallen through and was sitting just above the basement. Whenever I come across things like this, I wonder what it was like for the family who built this. Who were they, were they happy, was life difficult, what was it like back then around this area, etc. It also makes me wonder if someone will come across any of my things in a hundred+ years and wonder the same things about me.

Photo Info: To get the right exposure on this shot I used GND filters (both a hard edge and soft edge). The hard edge was placed at the horizon and the soft edge filtered out just at the horizon. I shot the image at: f/4.2 at 1/200 sec. with an ISO: 100 and zoomed to 29mm. In post I converted to Black and white and added some contrast and sharpening.
