Seine Früchte, die essbar und durchaus wohlschmeckend sind, erreichen einen Durchmesser von 2 bis 2,5 cm und tragen eine rote bis orange Färbung. Blütezeit ist von April bis Mai. Erntezeit ist im Oktober.
