Luxury Ship meets luxury train - a photo on Flickriver

            "The Lord of the Glens" cruise ship is the perfect balance between a stately country manor and a private yacht, making her the ideal ship to cruise through the Scottish countryside. With polished mahogany features, teak decks, gourmet cuisine and personal service guests can relax comfortably and be swept into the Scottish moorlands in style."   That description (from the advertising blurb) could (almost) be equally applied to the 'Royal Scotsman' luxury train, rumbling slowly across the swing bridge at Banavie, near Fort William, as the small cruise ship waits for the twin rail and road bridges to be swung so she can proceed on her leisurely navigation of the Caledonian Canal through the Great Glen to Inverness. This includes of course the famous flight of locks known as Neptune's Staircase. I'm standing on one of the lock gates to grab this view. It was pure luck, I'd no idea the 'Royal Scotsman' was about to show up.
