The ISS passes over Darmstadt, Germany

            This was just a few minutes before the Soyuz spacecraft with three spacefarers on board, including the British ESA astronaut Tim Peake docked to the International Space Station. 

The Soyuz craft is not visible; it's just too faint next to the ISS, which appears at -3mag, about as bright as Venus can shine. 

But you do see the constellation Lyra with bright blue Vega just to the upper left of the ISS light trail. 

The flares in the image are due to streetlights. I took this in a very brightly lit street just outside an office building. 

The image is a composite of 24 images and covers a two minute span from around 18:15 CET to 18:17 CET.
