London County Council No. 1 (Bluebird)

             
No. 1 was a one-off ex *London County Council Tramways (LCC) experimental car built by LCC at its Charlton Works entering service in Jun 1932 seating 28/38 and running on EMB Radial Arm type 6A equal wheel bogies. It had been nicknamed 'Bluebird' because of its blue & white streamlined livery which was changed to the standard red & cream/white of the *LPTB in 1937.

No. 1 was withdrawn from service in Apr 1951 and sold to Leeds Corporation Tramways, arriving there in June and going into service in December running as No. 301. It returned to London in Nov 1957 to be a British Transport museum exhibit and eventually went to Crich where it is being restored to run again as LCC No. 1.
