Glen Clova from the Ministers Path - a photo on Flickriver

            Last Sunday we followed the footsteps of the minsiter of Glen Prosen kirk who in the late 19th century walked from Glen Prosen to Glen Clova every Sunday to preach in the local church (a 4 mile walk across open moorland and the hills) This is the view he got while approaching Glen Clova.

The Ministers path is a 4-5 mile route (dependant on where you drop down into Glen Clova) over the high moorland that separates Glen Prosen and Glen Clova. This popular right of way is so named as the minister of Prosen Kirk was also responsible for the congregation in Clova and had to therefore made the weekly trip across the moors to preach in the Clova Kirk. Whether he walked or rode is a source of debate (he probably did both) but the rumour was that his horse could make the journey without any assistance from him.
