Norm's Gallery - Northern Fantail (Rhipidura rufiventris).02

            Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, Middle Point, Northern Territory, Australia.

This is Norm, another of my regular avian clients at Fogg Dam over the past 3 years (see also Larry, the lemon bellied flycatcher).

Norm can be found in the same tree each afternoon in the dry season between 2 pm and 4 pm and is happy to hang around for 15 - 20 minutes while I compose and capture images.

The flash does not bother him.

Occasionally he will fly off the perch to hawk an insect (even at my feet) before returning to settle a few metres from me.  He even occasionally flies down and pecks the hood on my 600 mm lens.
