American Robin (Turdus migratorius) with lunch!

            Total luck with this shot!  While out shooting Cedar Waxwings I noticed a pursuit out of the corner of my eye.  The Robin featured here was actually chasing away a Blue Jay and ended it’s pursuit right in front of me.  I believe this Robin’s nest was near by.

Filling the frame was a breeze with my Nikkor 500mm F4 + 1.4x tele (720mm).  Holding tight and steady was my challenge.  I managed to get off a short burst of shots before this beauty took off.
