Bokehfly 13/365

Quick trip to butterfly house in Chester Zoo as it was snowing outside. I spotted this one and decided to put the 50mm prime on and frame up the light directly behind it to create a nice soft light! I've added a vignette in Camera Raw as some of the bokeh took the eye away from the subject.

My camera never comes out of Manual mode, but I always tend to forget about changing the metering mode. It was a good chance to play with spot metering and experiment with the results! To me the most important part of this project 365, is using every option available to me on-board the camera. Whilst Photoshop can be a life saver in some situations (never light painting), I believe that the photographer should get it right on the camera first without relying on post processing techniques!
