Sevilla : Plaza de España - 3 - - a photo on Flickriver

            Built on the occasion of the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the Plaza España is a vast semi-circle 200 m. in diameter surrounded by an impressive palace of brick and ceramics, one of the wonders of the city. Its blue ceramic tiles, the azulejos, tell the history of the provinces of Spain, in alphabetical order.

Construite à l'occasion de l'Exposition ibéro-américaine de 1929, la place d'Espagne est un vaste demi-cercle de 200 mètres de diamètre bordé d'un impressionnant palais de brique et de céramique, l'une des merveilles de la ville. Ses carreaux de faïence bleu, les azulejos, racontent toute l'histoire des provinces d'Espagne, par ordre alphabétique.

Construida con motivo de la Exposición Iberoamericana de 1929, la Plaza de España es un gran semicírculo de 200 metros de diámetro, rodeado por un impresionante palacio de ladrillo y de cerámica, una de las maravillas de la de la ciudad. Sus azulejos, cuentan la historia de las provincias de España, en orden alfabético.
