Bangkok normal

            The sunsets this time of year are spectacular. And not only because of the pollution. Here a shot from the Giant Swing. I went on several days to catch some good moments, first handheld street, then with tripod. This here handheld f7.1 1/250 iso640.

Covid is still around of course, but tourists are returning, shops and street food stands open busy with people relaxed and joking around with cheer. The vibes have changed. Bangkok looks and feels pretty much how it used to. Just normal, if that’s the right word for this crazy awesome place :)

The Giant Swing was used for Brahmin ceremonies. It was first constructed in 1784 in a different location and moved here in 1920. The ceremonies involved recital of verses and brahmins swinging, trying to grab a bag of coins placed on one of the pillars. The ceremonies were discontinued in 1935 after several fatal accidents.
