Northwoods Night Light - a photo on Flickriver

            Northern lights (Aurora Borealis), stars, and a shooting star over White Pine Lake off of Honeymoon Trail in the Superior National Forest near Lutsen, Minnesota.

This was supposed to be just a non-overnight trip, driving a short distance north to see and photograph the northern lights that had been predicted. It ended up being a nine-day, 1,000+ mile road trip extraordinaire that I will never forget!

My wiener dog, Goldie, and I camped the whole time, sleeping in my van. Fortunately, I still had a suitcase in the van with some clothes in it from a previous trip. I didn't have any of my camping gear with me, but I had a chair for each of us, a cooler and some flashlights, and the most important thing - all of my camera gear.
