Leica M6 2022 - a photo on Flickriver

Leica M6 2022

            A Leica M6 revived at the end of 2022, with a Summilux 35mm  f/1.4 Steelrim also revived in 2022. Lovely little lens with lots of character when wide open, well behaved stopped down.

Comparing the 2022 M6 to the 1983 model; my preference is for the black chrome on the earlier model, nothing wrong with the finish on the new M6, quite nice actually. The older model has been well used and is run in, the controls are a little smoother, but it is very close. If not looking at them side by side it would be difficult to know.
My 1983 M6 has an MP finder installed, so it should be identical to the 2022 M6, however the newer M6 is brighter. In a nutshell, it doesn't matter which M6 you buy, they are all special. 
One last point; Leica has circuit boards for the metering in the new M6, not so with the older model. They are out of boards for the M6, M6 TTL and M7. The camera will run fine without a meter or indeed a battery, just meter manually, but it is something to keep in mind if it matters to you. 

This picture was taken with a Nikon FM3a fitted with a Voigtlander 58mm f/1.4 SL. The film is Kodak Gold 200 at 200. Aperture priority mode, the camera did a fine job with the metering. Lit by a low sun casting long shadows with a warm light.

Developing: Cinestill C41 powdered two bath kit with immersion heater.
