            Jalasjärven Hirvijärvi

"Hirvijärvi on matala, runsaskasvustoinen ja peltojen ympäröimä järvi Kurikan kunnassa, entisen Jalasjärven kunnan Hirvijärven kylässä. Pinta-alaa järvellä on 0,75 neliökilometriä, ja se kuuluu Kyrönjoen valuma-alueeseen. Järven pohjoispäässä, paikassa, jossa Hirvijoki ja Hirviluoma laskevat järveen, sijaitsee lintutorni. Myös järven kaakkoispuolella, keskellä järveä sijaitsee lintutorni. Hirvijärven laskujoki on Leväjoki. Vuoden 2011 aikana Hirvijärvi ruopattiin kauttaaltaan ja keväällä 2012 sen vedenpintaa nostettiin noin metrillä. Myös laskujoki Leväjokea uudistettiin.

Järvi lukeutuu Suomenselän alueen parhaimpiin muutonaikaisiin levähdyspaikkoihin. Hirvijärvellä saattaa huhtikuun lopulla nähdä tuhansittain hanhia ja sadoittain joutsenia. Lisäksi tundrahanhia, lyhytnokkahanhia ja pikkujoutsenia tavataan säännöllisesti. Limingan seudun lisäksi järvi on mahdollisesti varmimpia paikkoja, jossa lyhytnokkahanhen voi Suomessa nähdä. Myös jalohaikara, haahka ja mustapyrstökuiri on tavattu Hirvijärvellä. Perinteisesti Hirvijärven alueella on keväisin järjestetty bongauskilpailu, joka kestää viikon."
