Rucu Pichincha Volcano Summit at 4,696 meters (15,413 ft) above sea level, Quito, Ecuador.

            For spectacular views [when the skies are not cloudy (my day)] over Quito’s mountainous landscape, hop aboard this sky tram, one of the world's highest aerial lifts, that takes passengers/us on a 2.5 km/1,55 miles ride (10 minutes) up the flanks of Volcán Pichincha to the top of Cruz Loma. 

Once I was at the top (a mere 4,100 meters/13,451 feet), I could hike to the summit of Rucu Pichincha (4,680 meters/15,354 feet), a 4 km/2,48 mi (five-hour) round-trip – ask about the safety situation before attempting the climb and bring warm clothes.
