260 - Cabecera - Iglesia San Martín - Frómista (Palencia) - Spain.

            Esta iglesia fue un antiguo monasterio benedictino, siendo uno de los edificios más significativos del románico europeo.
Tres ábsides, el central de mayores dimensiones, tienen excelente decoración; con canecillos, columnas e impostas, además de ajedrezado jaqués a varias alturas, que hacen un bello conjunto.
Un precioso cimborrio octogonal exterior, es de gran importancia constructiva, al proceder de una arquitectura cuadrada en su interior.

This church was an old Benedictine monastery, one of the most significant buildings of the European Romanesque.
Three apses, the central one larger, have excellent decoration, with canecillos, columns and imposts, plus chessboard jaqués at various heights, they make a beautiful ensemble.
A precious octagonal dome exterior, is very important constructive, coming from an architecture square inside.
