826 – Virgen con Niño - Iglesia Ntra Sra Asunción – Lagunas de Somoza (León) – Spain.

            El relieve románico de finales del siglo XII muestra a la Virgen con el Niño, y aún se aprecian restos de policromía.
Su cara está muy deteriorada, se adivina restos del velo y la rodea un nimbo. La Virgen sujeta al Niño Jesús al que le falta la cabeza, que bendice con la mano derecha y en la izquierda sujeta un libro. Unos felinos aparecen en el trono de la Virgen.

The Romanesque relief from the end of the 12th century shows the Virgin with the Child, and remains of polychrome can still be seen.
Her face is very deteriorated, you can see remnants of her veil and a nimbus surrounds her. The Virgin holds the Infant Jesus whose head is missing, which he blesses with her right hand and in her left he holds a book. Some felines appear on the Virgin's throne.
