Admiral Ushakov - a photo on Flickriver

Admiral Ushakov

At the end of the XIX Century, Russia started the construction of three Coastal Defense Ships of the Admiral Ushakov Class for operations on the Baltic Sea. Although tiny ships (length 88meters), they carried a powerful armament of four 254mm (10”) guns (three on Admiral Apraksin) and a secondary armament of four 120mm guns, plus a large number of small anti-torpedo boat guns.

Although extremely small, it had a maximum speed of 16knots and a crew of 400men (which means that it was probably extremely cramped onboard).
