San Ángel es un pueblo originario de la alcaldía Álvaro Obregón, al sur de la Ciudad de México, asociado estrechamente por motivos históricos, urbanísticos y funcionales a los barrios de Tizapán, Chimalistac, Altavista, y Tlacopac. Su nombre actual proviene del colegio de San Ángel Mártir, el cual fue fundado por la orden carmelita, siendo su principal monumento histórico; es actualmente un museo de arte colonial.
San Ángel y su entorno son célebres por su historia, monumentos y arquitectura civil y religiosa, así como por sus museos, plazas, calles y fiestas tradicionales. Alberga uno de los mercados de arte popular más importantes del país, así como un gran número de galerías de arte. Desde 1856 es la sede de la Feria de las Flores.
