            Also hadt Godt die Welt gelibt das er seine einige geboren Son gab auf das alle die an im geleuben nicht verlorn wernden sonder das ewig Leben haben.

Da fragt man sich ob's Luther war oder der Maler..
Mit 400 Jahren Abstand klingt es sehr skurril

 Also (thus) has God loved the World, that he gave his native (?) Son, so that those who belive in him don't get lost, but rather get eternal life. (one-by-one)

With 400 years Distance the German Version sounds 'funny', Text with a lot of (nowadays view) mistakes - probably the Painter wasn't a good Writer. ;-).

PS: 2017 is Luther Year and 500 y of Reformation. A little Tribute for the former Artists.

Unfortunately the Light Conditions in the hughe Church were very bad and the Oil 'n Tar based Colours became strong dark over the centuries. :-/
The Tar covers by time the pigments, making the paintings very morbid.
