THE PREVIOUS CONVERSATION CONTINUED...

"Oh, so you are Ebirdman! You say that with obvious disappointment, Mr. Burrows. What's that supposed to mean?" I retorted.

"Well, I was expecting someone, you know.....younger," he said with the look and tone of an obvious dig.

"Ah! I see you have a problem with my age! Not a very kind statement for a Wise OLD Owl is it, Mr. Burrows?"

"Yes, I am as you see, very wise and very old!" he affirmed as he re-positioned himself to display a more confident stance.

"Very wise and very old, you say! Oh really! You boast such, with an expected lifespan one tenth that of my species! Very wise and very old, indeed, Mr. Burrows!! Now, I perceive how your species acquired its name!

Ahem! You can plainly determine by the tenor of the conversation recorded above, that, well, shall we say, ......he was 'digging a hole' for himself, and I wasn't going to let him get by with it!
