You Can Take This One 'At' The Bank

Taken near Fort Langley, British Columbia, CA.


I first saw this bird way out in the river. I stopped my vehicle to have a look. At first I thought that it may be a Yellow-billed loon because the westering sun made its bill look yellow from afar and its head was held in the tilted up position to which Yellow-billed Loons are prone.

The bird dived and was kindly disposed to surface very close to the bank that I was standing on, hence this photo. After closer observation I was able to determine that it was just a common thing...(see below).
