Halle (Saale), Thälmannplatz, 1975

            From a postcard: Bild und Heimat, Reichenbach, V. Foto: Kühn, Leipzig. One of the best views of the Platz to be found  on a postcard and unusual for its inclusion of pedestrians in a prominent  position. If he/she was not using a telephoto lens the photographer was standing close to the base of the south residential tower, whose corner pillar is on the left of the picture. Included in the view are a concrete waste paper basket and a wooden slatted bench, both of a type found in many other places throughout the DDR.
