Juvenile Neotropic Cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus)

            Anahuac National Wildlife Reguge in Texas is a wonderful place where I had the opportunity to get shots of many different birds. When wet, in the shade or in different lighting, juvenile Neotropic Cormorants can look very dark, almost black. One site even describes them as having "black upper and lower parts." In fact, they are brown.
