Walking Amongst the Gods 09 - a photo on Flickriver

When I awoke that morning in July I had no idea about the impact for me the hours ahead held. High in the Rocky Mountains the day dawned with sun and clouds amongst the mountains.

Our small travel group left the Many Glacier Hotel along Swiftcurrent Lake. Van-ed it to St Mary Lake viewed and hiked the north side in a popular hike/walk area.

On review it was almost mystical to be amongst those high peaks many of which were enveloped in part by clouds Meanwhile feet on the ground we endured high winds that removed hats and push our hair around.

On reflection and browsing my pictures, I collected some from that morning. My intent to share the experience so we can all walk amongst the Mountains gods. I was humbled remembering my place in the natural order. I am not god.

Wild Goose Island (4,496 feet (1,370 m)) is located within Saint Mary Lake in Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana. Rising a mere 14 ft (4.3 m) above the lake, the island is dwarfed by the lake and surrounding mountains, yet is of one of the most frequently photographed locations along the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
