            Un papillon Cuivré commun (Lycaena phlaeas), Neuchâtel, Suisse.
Le Cuivré commun appartient à la famille des Lycaenidae qui comprend plus de 5000 espèces dans le monde et une centaine en Europe.
De petite taille, de 22 à 27 mm, ce papillon, surnommé "bronzé" est facilement repérable, en raison de sa couleur éclatante. Commun on peut l’observer d'avril à octobre, voire plus tard. S'il aime butiner les fleurs de luzerne, il pond par contre, sur l'oseille qui servira de nourriture pour les chenilles. Il habite dans toutes les régions tempérées de l'hémisphère nord Europe, en Asie tempérée, au Japon, de l'Afrique du Nord jusqu'au Kenya. Il est également présent en Amérique du Nord.
