Later That Same Day - a photo on Flickriver

            I will ask you to use your imagination and reverse this photo with the one that follows it.  The photo that follows this one was taken in the morning of our Blackfoot River float and fish, about 9:00 in the morning.  The forecast called for sunny and hot all day.  But, as you can see in this capture, the sun took a little time off and the air decided to shed its heat and, by the time we were nearing our take-out point, the temps had dropped about 15 degrees, the winds had come up, and it was a totally different weather day altogether.  We all ended up with flannel shirts and windbreakers on, when we thought we were going to bake like bread for the most part.  It just goes to show you, especially in the mountains, and we were in western Montana here at the end of June, the weather can and will change on a dime.  Even changing on a nickel is possible.  But especially mountain weather is crazy about rapid changes.

While the morning shot transmits a feeling of calm and serenity, this particular capture some six or seven hours later, suggests
an impending storm with great drama.

As it turned out, by the time we made our take-out point, just ten minutes after this shot was taken, the cold front had come and gone and we were right back in the sunshine and the heat of the day.  "See", said the weathermen and women.  "We told you so".
