House on Fire - a photo on Flickriver

House on Fire

            Actually, there was no house fire here but, instead, a  very robust sunset showing through this abandoned farmhouse, via the opening due to a missing back door.
This is an old Kodachrome image that goes back to the early 1980's, when my, then, wife and I lived in rural northern Virginia, in a house on a hilltop overlooking some farm land and the Potomac River, less than a mile from where this capture was made.
Maybe ten years ago, I had the transparency scanned and saved to a digital file on a CD or a DVD, none of which existed as yet in that era.  The digital transformation to come was about 15 years away, and has now totally reshaped and revitalized the photographic world.  And done so for the better, IMHO.
