Brazilië is het thema van de grote zomertentoonstelling van 2016 in museum Beelden aan Zee en op het Lange Voorhout in Den Haag. De Olympische Spelen van 2016 zijn de aanleiding voor een ode aan de Braziliaanse beeldhouwkunst. De letterlijke vertaling van het woord beleza is schoonheid maar het wordt tegenwoordig onder jongeren en vrienden gebruikt als een begroeting of als akkoord, als een ‘What’s up?’. Beleza is een moment van reflectie, stil staan bij het nu; om vervolgens weer op te gaan in een zinderend land dat steeds in beweging is.

This summer Museum Beelden aan Zee presents Brasil, Beleza?! on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague and in its museum in Scheveningen as part of the annual Summer Sculpture Exhibition organized by Beelden aan Zee. The exhibition offers a colorful insight into the vast land of Brazil through a selection of historical, contemporary and newly commissioned works by more than 25 Brazilian artists, many whom have never exhibited before in The Netherlands.
