The Hunter - a photo on Flickriver

Seen here is a male Peregrine Falcon that was re-habing at the Carolina Raptor Center just outside of Charlotte, NC following an injury out in the wild.

This falcon, also known as the duck hawk in North America, is capable of reaching speeds of up to 200 mph (320 km-h). It is one of the world's fastest birds, and is know to dive from great heights in order to capture its prey.

The CRC mentioned this falcon is a member of an arctic peregrine subspecies, and is lighter in color than the American peregrine falcon.
