Campfire - a photo on Flickriver

Campfire

This picture is rather outside my usual style but I'm posting it for fun nonetheless. I spent the weekend with my elder son at the Webelos Woods cub scout camp near Wimberley, Texas where he got a chance to try all sorts of cool, Boy Scout activities that are usually closed to Cubs (making flint arrowheads, fire building, climbing, pioneering, etc). We had a blast! I'll post more pictures of this over on the Pack 101 Flickr account later.

This particular image was taken around 10pm last night as a group were sitting around the campfire. I was playing with high ISO and shot a few very bad pictures before deciding to give up on sharpness and see what transpired. This was a 6 second exposure using a tripod so I was very surprised to find that I could still recognise most of the people in it.

After taking this, I got talking to some of the boys and we ended up doing some light painting with our flashlights. Once I've played with those images, I'll post one here. Again, totally out of my usual photographic comfort zone but loads of fun for everyone involved.
