Blue Dasher Dragonfly - a photo on Flickriver

I spent a couple of hours this morning giving my 9 year old son a photography lesson at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. While there, I also got a chance to grab a few pictures of the dragonflies that were patrolling one of the ponds. This image was taken using flash and I will definitely be doing more of this in future since the depth of field is so much better when I can stop way down to f22 as in this case

As before, this was taken with a 70-300mm VR lens and 56mm of extension, handheld with the SB-600 flash off-camera to the left (as far as I can remember).
