A safer way to have a camp fire. - a photo on Flickriver

This is my preferred way to have a camp fire in dry conditions it keeps the fire small does not scorch the ground and leave fire scars , its a perfect cooking fire and very easy to put out if you have to, being a metal tray just pour an inch of water into it and the fire is done in moments, I always teach people that the most important thing about a camp fire is make sure you can put it out before you light it, the other thing is it only uses very small amounts of wood.
