Hollingworth Lake Tin Tabernacle revisited (again)

            In 2016 I read about something called a tin tabernacle which had been abandoned, so I went for a look. I didn't think at the time finding these little rarities would become something of a journey for me (its not big enough to be an obsession!). So far I've seen 36 of the ones that survived. Anyhow, only 36 in 9 years (4 a year) isn't an obsession!! I've been back a few times to this one to see it become even more derelict. In 2016 the 'porch' was mainly intact - I've posted the photo in the comments box for comparison purposes.

I was surprised to find that in October 2022 someone was in a bidding war at an auction and paid £172,000 for it. At the time I wondered what on earth they were going to do with it. For a start, the 'access' is awful. Saying that it is a lovely spot with (trees permitting) a great view over Hollingworh Lake. Anyway, over two years later it looks pretty much the same - although a few more bits seem to have dropped off. No sign of any demolition (thankfully) or development on the plot. I'm no expert but the top part doesn't look to be 'tin' - more like asbestos. Eek. The plot seems to be fairly well kept so I wonder who is doing that? I always assumed that when it was owned previously, the local Diocese were involved, but I don't know for sure. 

Apart from the 'access' issue, presumably the planning laws would come into effect if anything was going to be built here. Its all a bit of a mystery I must say.

I will keep an eye and ear open for any news.
