Old Hjälmseryd Church (Interior) - a photo on Flickriver

This little Romanesque church was originally built in the 12th century. It was replaced as a parish church in the middle of the 19th century and soon became severely dilapidated. But in the 1920s an interest in the old church building (by then completely in ruins) started to take shape and money was collected to rebuild it. The church was reconstructed to its medieval form. Some of the original, medieval inventory was also restored to the church - including the altar and the baptismal font. 

This is my second visit to the church, but the first time the church was closed so I couldn't get inside. if you want exterior shots of the church, click on my 'Old Hjälmseryd church'-tag and you should be able to.
