Here it is, the earth quake star trail! Yes, I said the earth quake star trail. That or I can sign this one up for Tipsy Tuesday! If you look carefully, and perhaps go to the decluttr link to make it larger, there are two north stars! TWO! Ok, only one, but the separation there is the point of time at which the earthquake hit and that shifted my tripod to redirect the star trail. I guess its proof of an earthquake? A big one any way! SO happy to hear that the tripod and camera did not take a dive! The 7D is my husbands and it is much heavier then mine. My tripod is not meant for more then 6.5 pounds, so I was sweating!

Any way, the stats, this image is a total of 421 exposures, all of which are 30 seconds long. This is about 90 exposures longer then my longest one! YA! But, when all was said and done, I did NOT get a shooting star, just 4, at least 4, air plane trails! There must be a landing strip behind that mountain, because they are ALL heading in the exact same direction! Two of them even took a corse change on its way. Kind of cool. Any way, my camera is set up right now, in hops to get that shooting star! I know, there is going to be more meteor showers in the near future, I get excited about these things though! :)
