            Notre collègue sapeur-pompiers, Alain Grumiaux était apprécié de tous. Il est décédé en service commandé le 31 aout 1983, un jour avant qu’il réalise son projet : gravir le Mont Blanc (4807 m).
Nous lui avons rendu hommage en allant faire l’ascension pour lui.
Nous sommes partis en vélo, de notre centre de secours Pontault-Combault, près de Paris pour aller jusqu’à Chamonix (666 kms) en 4 jours. 
Après un peu de repos, nous avons effectué l’ascension du Mont Blanc du Tacul (4 248 m) pour s’entrainer. 

Le 9 septembre nous avons commencé l’ascension du Mont Blanc. Nous sommes arrivés au sommet le 10 septembre 1986 à 8h15. 

Our firefighter colleague, Alain Grumiaux was appreciated by all. He died on duty on August 31, 1983, one day before he carried out his project: to climb Mont Blanc (4,807 m).
We paid tribute to him by going to climb for him.
We set off by bike from our Pontault-Combault rescue center near Paris to reach Chamonix (666 km) in 4 days.
After a little rest, we climbed Mont Blanc du Tacul (4,248 m) to train.

On September 9 we started the ascent of Mont Blanc. We arrived at the summit on September 10, 1986 at 8:15 am.
