Homeless - a photo on Flickriver

Homeless

We met this character on Orient Beach, Saint Martin. He wanders in and out of he beach bars where the locals feed him. I gave him a few USD and ask for his picture. Not sure he understood English and I don't speak French, but he got excited and wanted me to wait. He ran his hands thru his hair and beard, straighten his shirt, lit his smoke, made a heart, and said OK. I wanted the sign behind him that says 'this is my happy place', but couldn't get him to budge. I asked his name with no response. None of the locals knew his name either, but they said if we had an empty suit case, we could take him home. He's about the right size for a carry on.
